Dog handling

Our professional patrol dog unit has been established for over eight years.

During this time we have achieved Associate Company membership with NASDU.

All security dogs will be deployed in accordance with recommendations contained in BS 8517-1:2009 Code of Practice for the Use of General Purpose Security Dogs, which addresses the following: -
  • Administration
  • Kennelling/Husbandry
  • Health,& Welfare of the Dog
  • Equipment & Clothing
  • Operational Requirements
  • Transport & Kennelling
As part of our commitment to NASDU, any staff and Security Dogs that might be assigned to potential clients will have received the following Training:
  • Level
  • Entry
  • Initial
  • Qualification
  • NASDU Award
    Dog Handling Safety Techniques
  • Level 2 National Award
    General Purpose Security Dog Handling

    In addition to this we will ensure that any Officers and Security Dog's deployed on client premises undertake Annual NASDU Refresher Training.
  • Guided Learning Hours
  • 15 GLH
  • 50 GLH



An NVQ Level 2 Training Certificate in regular monthly continuation training in provided to all our patrol dogs and trainers.

Further to this all patrol dogs and security dog handlers are re-evaluated and examined annually.
